<<<   The Translation of Enoch   >>>

The thought below that Enoch "was borne up to Heaven without passing through the narrow gate of death" is very interesting. The thought that God "took" him in Genesis 5:24 can be looked at in many different ways. Some things are certain. Jesus was the first to be resurrected from the dead and to have ascended to heaven as mentioned in John 3:13. Elijah was also taken in God's chariot! So, what exactly happened? We simply do not know, at this time. Some surmise that perhaps God allowed him to die peacefully as he was surrounded by violence and his spirit returned to God - But again, we do not know. We do know that the condition of the dead is as if they are asleep or unconscious as mentioned in Ecclesiastes 9:5,10. Jesus also likens death to sleep in John 11:11-44.
